The opening exchanges were fairly even, both sides attempting to throw the ball around to create scoring opportunities but it was Syston who struck first with a penalty on 13 minutes (0-3). Ben Lawrence was sent to the bin on the half hour mark for reacting to being held back which didn't help the cause but didn't affect the outcome, Syston adding a further penalty and drop goal to leave the half time score 0-9 without threatening Tows goal line.
Five substitutions were made at half time with Patch Griffiths and Billy Jones making their final contribution to Tows before departing for Uni, good luck to them and the Uni!!
Tows had regrouped at half time and with more control of tempo and the ball started to make line breaks and once the defence was on the back foot broke loose with Callum Jones, Callum Threlfall, Tom Doran and Fen Gallagher all scoring from far out, Colts fly half Callum Garwood added three from four conversions all within a 20 minute period.
Syston gained territorial advantage late in the game and after a series of penalties added a converted try of their own to leave the final score 26-19.
The Development side are in league action next Saturday at home to Leighton Buzzard.
