What started with delays due to parking and traffic turned into a lovely morning of rugby. Thank you for bearing with us while we got it up and running. All the kids seemed to love the fast paced 7 minute games and over the course of the day we saw some end to end rugby with moments of individual brilliance and some great team efforts in defence. During the games I refereed Tows definitely made the most 7 tag turnovers! As with most festivals there was a lot of between game downtime and one thing that really stood out today was how good the behaviour of all the kids was during it. They seem to love having a chance to relax and bond with their teammates, some of which they only get to see once a week at rugby.

A special mention went to Edward who came and supported his teammates even though he has a broken arm and to Dylan who came all the way back from his holiday in Norfolk to play today.

I’ll leave you with a few numbers from today. Across all age group there were almost 1000 children playing rugby at Tows today. In our age group alone there were 16 teams playing 56 scheduled games across 2 pitches. Hundreds of tries were scored and thousands of tags made. My watch says that I ran 13k so imagine how much ground the kids covered! I think they’ve earned their half-term!
