After a long drive to Bedford and some of the boys being locked in the changing rooms the whole team turned up motivated from last week’s win. We were greeted by a strong and large Bedford team, with a giant number 13 (approx 6ft 4”) that made even Jezza look small!

After losing the toss, we played the first half, slightly up hill and against the wind. Bedford quickly scored the first try which made Tows pay attention. However, Tows soon got into their stride to equalise, scored by Jezza. There was great support by Owen, who scored a try after a good run by Jacob. The windy conditions helped to deny Harvey making any conversions. In the second half, when the score was 7-15, Tows were caught napping after a quick penalty and Bedford scored a try but didn’t get the conversion. Soon after, with a good team effort and pressure, Harvey scored our last try but unfortunately hit the post when trying the conversion.

To summarise a hard fought game from both sides, but ultimately Towcestrians showed true strength and character to pull off a great win which will set us up nicely for next week’s cup match.

Well done everyone in the team. The new players certainly didn’t disappoint and we all played really well. A big thanks to all the Coaches and support staff for organising this game at short notice after Bugbrooke cancelled and for their encouragement.
