England Counties U18s to play Ireland Club and Schools
Kick off at 2pm on Wednesday, 3 April at United Services Sports Ground, Portsmouth
The England Counties U18s side to face Ireland on Wednesday, 3 April has been confirmed.
The two sides will meet in the first of their two-match series at United Services Sports Ground in Portsmouth with the match set to kick off at 2pm. They will then meet again on Saturday, 7 April.
Last season England lost out in two close games away to Ireland but Team Manager Dave Penberthy is confident they can come away with two victories.
"The standard has improved year on year and this year the selection process was really tough," said Penberthy.
"We know Ireland will be very well prepared and will bring a huge amount of physicality but there is a lot of excitement amongst our squad and a real sense of team unity already."
The team is coached by Giles Heagerty, assisted by Matt Hutchings with Bee Bannister taking on the role of Chair of Selectors and Andrew Rickard as assistant team manager.
