Colin was a driving force behind Towcestrians Development, playing for the club from the age of 16. He captained the club for 3 seasons, 1961-64 and then led the move to Greens Norton Road, handling the negotiations to purchase the ground and the building of the club house in 1970.

It was Wakers leadership, and business acumen in chairing the club, which led to the development of Towcestrians and laid the foundations for the club we have today.
